Can You Export Lifts and Elevator Spare Parts From the UAE?
Buying lifts or spare parts from Dubai for export? See the documents, HS codes, Dubai Chambers certificate cost and steps. Send part numbers for a quote.
Published · Updated · Elevaya Lifts

Quick answer: Yes. Lifts and lift parts leave the UAE under a customs export declaration, with an export invoice, a packing list and a certificate of origin where your country asks for one. Send us the model or part numbers and your destination, and ask us what we can supply.
Written by the Elevaya team. Customs details below come from Dubai Customs, Dubai Chambers, the UAE government portal and published HS tariff schedules, all checked on 3 November 2026. Rules at the destination are set by that country.
What can Elevaya export?
Elevaya supplies and installs home, passenger and panoramic lifts, dumbwaiters, escalators and moving walkways, and sources lift and escalator parts for multi-brand systems, including major international and Chinese equipment. Parts include doors, operators, controls, COP and LOP components, indicators, sensors, switches, rollers and other service parts. Ask us which items we can supply for export, and in what condition.
Identify the part before you order. A door roller or a control board can exist in several versions, so send the lift make, model, controller type and part reference, plus photos of the label. Our UAE spare parts service asks for the same details before it proposes supply.
Which countries do you ship to, and on what terms?
Ask us. Destinations and terms depend on the item, the quantity and your port, so we confirm them in the quotation rather than on this page.
| Item | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Destinations | Whether we can supply your country or port |
| Incoterms | Which terms apply to your order |
| Lead time | How long your parts or lift will take |
| Minimum order | Whether there is one for your order |
| Warranty on exported parts | What is covered, and who pays the freight |
| Payment terms | How payment is arranged |
What documents do you need to export from Dubai?
The Dubai Customs Customer Guide lists what it needs to clear an "Export from Local to ROW" declaration, meaning goods leaving for a country outside the GCC:
- Export invoice.
- Packing list.
- Export permit from the controlling authority, only if the goods are restricted for export.
- Certificate of origin from Dubai Chambers, where your country's customs asks for it. Dubai Chambers describes it as certifying the origin of goods being exported or re-exported, and issues it alongside a commercial invoice.
A customs broker or the shipper normally files the declaration. Exports to another GCC state use a different declaration (the guide calls it a statistical export), so tell us which country you are shipping to. Source: Dubai Customs, Customer Guide, section 15.11 (checked 3 Nov 2026).
What HS code applies to lifts and lift parts?
Parts of lifts, skip hoists or escalators fall under subheading 8431.31, and lifts and escalators themselves fall under heading 8428. The UAE government portal explains that the UAE uses the World Customs Organization's Harmonized System, with national or GCC extensions added after the six digits. Within heading 8428, 8428.10 covers lifts and skip hoists and 8428.40 covers escalators and moving walkways. Subheading 8431.31 covers parts for lifts, skip hoists or escalators (UN Statistics Division HS classification; UK Integrated Online Tariff, checked 3 Nov 2026). Your customs broker confirms the full national line before you declare.
How much does it cost to export?
| Item | Published amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai Chambers certificate of origin | AED 100 per certificate, approved within two hours of a complete application, plus AED 5 for each commercial invoice page after page 5 and AED 5 for each packing list page. Open to Dubai Chamber of Commerce members. | Dubai Chambers, "Issuing a Certificate of Origin" (checked 3 Nov 2026) |
| Dubai Customs declaration fee | The fee table in the Customer Guide, Appendix A, lists 100 for "Export from Local to ROW" (no currency is printed there; confirm on Dubai Trade) | Dubai Customs Customer Guide, Appendix A |
| Freight, insurance, packing, clearing agent | Depends on the route and the Incoterm. Ask us or your forwarder. | Quotation |
| Import duty and VAT at destination | Set by the destination country | Not a UAE fee |
We don't publish a price list for parts. The price depends on the exact part, brand and quantity, so we quote once the part is identified.
What are the steps from enquiry to shipment?
- Send the details. Lift or escalator brand, model, controller, part number or label photo, quantity, destination country and port or city.
- Ask for a quotation. Ask us to confirm the part, whether it is original or compatible, its condition, the price, any warranty and the shipping terms.
- Confirm the order and payment terms in writing.
- Prepare the export invoice and packing list, with HS codes.
- Get a certificate of origin if your customs needs one.
- File the customs export declaration through the shipper or a clearing agent.
- Pack and dispatch by the route agreed in the quotation.
- Clear the goods at destination and pay any import duty, VAT and local charges.
What should I check at my own country's border before I order?
Import rules are set by your country, not by the UAE. Before you order, ask your customs broker about the import duty on the HS line, whether used or refurbished equipment is allowed, any conformity or standards requirement for lifts and parts, and whether an inspection certificate is needed.
Why buy lifts and parts from a UAE supplier?
- Dubai is a regional trade hub. The UAE government portal says the UAE ranks 1st in the Arab world for re-exporting (u.ae, Customs duty and tariff, checked 3 Nov 2026).
- One team handles identification, quotation and documents.
- Elevaya has served UAE buildings since 2019, with 200+ projects and a team of 12, from an office at Office 21, Al Rasis Business Centre, Al Barsha 1, Dubai.

FAQ
Can I export lifts from Dubai?
Yes, with an export invoice, a packing list, a customs export declaration and an export permit if the goods are restricted. Ask us which documents your shipment needs before it is packed.
Do I need a certificate of origin to export lift parts from the UAE?
Often, if your country's customs asks for it. Dubai Chambers publishes a fee of AED 100 per certificate and a two-hour processing time for members.
What HS code is used for elevator parts?
8431.31 at six-digit level. Your customs broker confirms the full national code before filing.
Who pays import duty and VAT?
The buyer pays them at the destination, at that country's rates. Ask your customs broker.
Can you supply parts for brands Elevaya did not install?
Elevaya reviews original and compatible routes for multi-brand systems. Availability depends on the exact equipment.
Who pays for freight?
That depends on the Incoterm agreed in the quotation. Ask us for the terms for your order.
Prepare the destination-country brief before requesting export supply
| Destination context | Buyer information needed before shipment |
|---|---|
| GCC project | Consignee, equipment approval requirements, customs treatment and final installation responsibility |
| African destination | Country and delivery point, importer documentation, conformity requirements and local technical support |
| Asian destination | Country-specific import rules, electrical and technical specifications, documentation language and clearance responsibilities |
These are procurement questions, not a promise that every product can be imported into every country. A destination’s customs, conformity and lift-installation requirements must be checked for the identified equipment. Agree the delivery term, packing, insurance, clearance, installation and commissioning responsibilities in writing.
For spare parts, include the component number, revision and equipment identity. For complete lifts, include the project’s shaft and interface requirements. See parts identification and compatibility and UAE lift supply responsibilities. Destination requirements and the confirmed supply scope determine the proposal; an unsupported bulk price list is not a technical specification.
