What can lift car refurbishment include?
“Lift car” is the technical term often used for the moving passenger cabin. A refurbishment can coordinate wall panels, mirrors, ceiling and lighting, flooring, skirtings, handrails, car-operating panels and entrance finishes. The measured cabin, material weight, fixing method, clearances and retained equipment determine what is suitable. Technical faults, door mechanisms and controller work are identified as separate repair or modernization items so the quotation remains understandable.
- Cabin wall panels, mirrors and decorative finishes
- Ceiling layouts, lighting and ventilation interfaces
- Flooring, skirtings and handrails
- Car-operating panels, indicators and accessibility details
- Entrance finishes and separately identified technical work
Refurbishment starts with the existing lift.
A cabin can look dated while the lift remains serviceable, or a tired interior can sit beside recurring technical issues. We begin by identifying the equipment, recording the cabin and entrance condition, reviewing access and understanding what the owner wants to change. The survey distinguishes cosmetic refurbishment from repair and modernization; a new finish is not presented as a cure for an unresolved fault.
Cabin wall panels, ceilings and lighting.
The design review can cover stainless steel, decorative metal, glass, timber-look or other suitable panel directions, together with ceiling layouts and cabin lighting. Proposed materials are checked against the measured cabin, fixing method, clearances, weight and maintenance needs. Samples and drawings are agreed before manufacture or installation so appearance, joints and interfaces are understood.
Flooring, handrails and operating panels.
Floor finishes, skirtings, handrails, mirrors and car-operating panels shape how the cabin feels and functions. We review durability, cleaning, accessibility, button legibility and the relationship between the new finish and retained equipment. A panel that looks compatible may not be electrically compatible, so operating-panel changes are confirmed only after the installed system is identified.
Landing entrances and elevator cladding.
Entrance refurbishment may include door-face finishes, surrounds, architraves or coordinated lobby cladding. It is different from replacing a landing-door mechanism or safety component. The written scope identifies the surfaces being changed, the protection of adjacent finishes and any separate technical work. Building-management rules, delivery access and working hours are considered for occupied properties.
A survey-led programme for occupied buildings.
Downtime, work sequencing and user communication matter in villas, apartment buildings, hotels, offices and retail properties. Elevaya prepares the proposal around the accepted design, site access, material lead times and the building’s operating constraints. Since 2019, our team has delivered more than 200 UAE projects; the exact programme and warranty for each refurbishment are stated in its written quotation.
From design direction to documented handover.
Share photographs, preferred finishes, the building location and any available lift records. After the technical survey, the proposal identifies retained and replaced items, exclusions, samples or drawings, programme, protection and handover requirements. All quotations follow the survey because cabin dimensions, equipment interfaces and site conditions determine the responsible scope.
Elevator cladding: walls, doors and a coordinated finish.
Elevator cladding renews the visible surfaces of a lift cabin or entrance. Elevaya coordinates wall panels, mirrors, ceilings, lighting, handrails, flooring and agreed door finishes so the result reads as one interior. Brushed stainless steel suits frequent cleaning; decorative metal, timber-effect finishes and mirror panels create different architectural effects. Selection also considers added weight, fixing details, ventilation, access panels and clearances. We inspect the existing cabin before specifying the build-up, and plan the shutdown with the building manager. Cladding improves the interior; recurring operational faults belong in a separate repair or modernization scope.
Questions, answered.
Can Elevaya refurbish a lift without replacing it?
A cabin-only or entrance refurbishment may be possible. The technical survey checks the existing lift, proposed materials and interfaces before the scope is confirmed.
Does lift refurbishment include control replacement?
Not automatically. Cosmetic finishes, operating panels, controllers and drives are separate scope items. The proposal identifies exactly what is retained, refurbished or replaced.
Can you refurbish lifts installed by another company?
Yes, multi-brand refurbishment enquiries can be assessed. Acceptance depends on equipment identification, condition, technical access and compatibility.
How much does lift refurbishment cost?
The quotation follows a technical site survey. Cabin size, materials, panels, flooring, controls, entrances, access and the agreed technical scope all affect the price.
Is lift car refurbishment the same as replacing the lift?
No. Lift car refurbishment normally concerns the cabin and agreed entrance finishes. Repair, modernization and full replacement are different scopes and are identified separately after the survey.
Elevaya develops every project around the surveyed equipment, building and agreed service scope.
