DESIGN GUIDE / CABIN INTERIORS

Lift cabin wall panels. Build a complete interior.

A cabin finish is more than a colour sample. Wall panels, joints, mirrors, lighting, floor, handrail and operating panel have to work as one durable interior and remain suitable for the lift.

Start with the building, not a catalogue code.

A villa may call for warm timber tones, bronze accents or a quieter hotel-like interior. A busy residential or commercial building may benefit from robust brushed finishes that are easier to clean and replace. Share photographs, drawings and a mood board, but describe the users and operating environment too. Elevaya then reviews whether the request concerns a new lift, a cabin-only refurbishment or a broader modernization.

Understand the main wall-finish families.

Common design directions include hairline or mirror stainless steel, etched metal, coloured stainless-steel tones, coated panels, glass and timber-look decorative surfaces. A reflective finish can visually enlarge a compact cabin but also shows fingerprints and glare. Patterned or feature panels can create a focal wall, while simpler side panels can make future maintenance easier.

  • Brushed or hairline stainless steel for a restrained technical finish
  • Mirror and etched stainless steel for reflective or patterned accents
  • Champagne, bronze, rose-gold or darker metal tones where available
  • Timber-look, glass or decorative feature panels for a warmer interior
  • Replaceable panel zones where future refreshes are expected

Check weight, fixing and service access.

Decorative panels are installed inside moving equipment, so material weight, thickness, fire performance, fixing method and clearances matter. A stone-look panel is not automatically the same as a solid stone slab. Mirrors, trims and feature panels must not obstruct controls, ventilation, inspection points or maintenance access. The surveyed cabin and proposed system determine what can be retained, over-clad or replaced.

Coordinate every visible surface.

Choose the wall palette beside the ceiling, light temperature, floor, handrail, car operating panel and door finish. Check samples under lighting similar to the final cabin; warm metal and timber tones can change noticeably under cool LEDs. Ask the proposal to identify standard and optional finishes, sample approval, edge and joint treatment, protection during work, cleaning guidance and the exact handover scope.

Use the images as a design conversation.

The examples on this page illustrate finish combinations rather than a promise of a specific model. Final colours, patterns, dimensions and component availability can differ. Elevaya issues a quotation only after a technical site survey and a written finish schedule for the selected equipment.

Questions, answered.

Can existing elevator cabin panels be replaced without changing the whole lift?

Sometimes. The survey must check the existing car, panel fixing, clearances, weight, controls and condition before a cabin-only refurbishment is confirmed.

Which lift cabin finish is easiest to maintain?

There is no universal answer. Brushed finishes often hide minor marks better than mirror surfaces, but cleaning, traffic, damage risk and the available replacement route should guide the choice.

Can Elevaya match a villa interior design?

Elevaya can review architectural references and prepare a coordinated finish proposal. The final selection depends on equipment compatibility, samples, site conditions and the accepted scope.

Elevaya develops every project around the surveyed equipment, building and agreed service scope.
