BUILDING OWNERS & FACILITIES TEAMS

Elevator control upgrades. Compatibility comes first.

A control-panel upgrade is an engineering interface project, not a box swap. Elevaya reviews the controller, drive, doors, signals, operating panels and retained equipment before proposing a scope.

Identify the system before choosing a panel.

The controller coordinates movement, doors, calls, position information and safety interfaces. Two lifts with the same brand badge may use different generations and configurations. We record the lift, controller, drive, motor, door equipment, operating panels, drawings and fault history before discussing replacement. A photograph or model name alone does not confirm compatibility.

Separate a controller upgrade from a button-panel change.

The main control panel, car operating panel (COP), landing operating panel (LOP), indicators and communication equipment serve different functions. A project may involve one or several of them. The proposal names each affected component and its interface with retained equipment, preventing a cosmetic panel request from being confused with a wider technical modernization.

Review the reason for the upgrade.

Recurring faults, unsupported components, changing building use, accessibility needs and planned modernization can each trigger a review. The survey tests the reported problem against the equipment and records rather than assuming the controller is the cause. Repair may remain appropriate, or a coordinated upgrade may be proposed when condition, support and project objectives justify it.

Define retained and replaced equipment.

A responsible scope lists what stays, what changes and which interfaces need adaptation. That may include the drive, motor feedback, door operator, call buttons, indicators, emergency communication, power supply and building monitoring. Documentation, suitable parts and access must be confirmed. Elevaya works independently across multiple brands; manufacturer names do not imply authorization.

Plan testing, downtime and handover.

Control work affects lift availability and requires a managed work area, testing and documented acceptance. For occupied buildings, the programme should state which unit is unavailable and how users are informed. The handover should identify settings, drawings or records, warranty boundaries and the maintenance requirements applying to new and retained components.

Survey first, then a written technical proposal.

Share the building, lift identity, service history, recurring observations and any available electrical or controller documents. Elevaya reviews the installed system on site and prepares a project-specific proposal. The quotation follows the survey because compatibility, access, retained equipment, parts and testing obligations determine the final scope and programme.

Questions, answered.

Will a new elevator controller fix every recurring fault?

No. Recurring faults can involve doors, signals, power, sensors or other interfaces. The cause and compatible scope must be assessed first.

Can only the lift buttons or COP be replaced?

A panel-only change may be possible when the electrical, communication, dimensional and safety interfaces are compatible. The installed system must be checked.

Do you upgrade control panels for different lift brands?

Elevaya assesses multi-brand equipment independently. Acceptance depends on the installed model, technical access, documentation and suitable components.

How is the upgrade price determined?

A quotation follows the survey and identifies retained and replaced equipment, interfaces, parts, testing, access, programme and warranty boundaries.

Elevaya develops every project around the surveyed equipment, building and agreed service scope.

Keep exploring.
