Use the right name for the component.
The car operating panel (COP) sits inside the cabin and normally carries floor buttons and other permitted functions. A landing operating or call panel (LOP) sits outside the lift. Position indicators, direction lanterns, arrival signals, displays, emergency communication and access-control readers may be separate or integrated. Naming the affected item helps the survey address the real request.
Design for legibility and reach.
Button size, spacing, contrast, illumination, tactile marking and mounting position influence how easily people use the lift. Audible and visual information, accessible controls and the route to the panel should be considered with the project’s responsible accessibility criteria. A fashionable touch display should not be chosen without a clear fallback, user and maintenance plan.
Compatibility comes before appearance.
A new faceplate or button is not automatically compatible with the installed controller, wiring, communication protocol or safety functions. Record the manufacturer, model, panel photographs, observed issue and available manuals without opening restricted equipment. Elevaya assesses whether the request is a like-for-like repair, an interface refresh or part of a wider control modernization.
Specify the full interface set.
A coherent proposal identifies the COP, LOPs, displays, floor naming, direction signals, key switches, access-control interface, emergency communication and any accessibility devices within scope. It should also state what remains, what changes, how floors are labelled, who approves the graphics and how operation is tested at handover.
- Car operating panel and floor buttons
- Landing call panels on each entrance
- Position indicators and arrival lanterns
- Emergency communication and permitted switches
- Accessibility features and access-control coordination
Treat faults as evidence, not a diagnosis.
Note whether a button is intermittent, a display is unreadable, a call is not registering or a panel is physically damaged. Do not assume the panel is the root cause. The controller, wiring, door sequence or another component may require investigation. Quotations follow the technical survey and confirmed compatibility.
Questions, answered.
What is the difference between a COP and an LOP?
The COP is the operating panel inside the lift car. The LOP is the landing call panel outside the lift. Displays and lanterns may be separate components.
Can old lift buttons be changed to touch controls?
Only after reviewing users, accessibility, controller compatibility, wiring, emergency operation, maintenance and the accepted project criteria.
Can Elevaya replace panels for different lift brands?
Elevaya reviews multi-brand equipment independently. Acceptance depends on identification, documentation, compatible parts, technical access and the surveyed scope.
Elevaya develops every project around the surveyed equipment, building and agreed service scope.
